Next Friday February 6th, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school. On this day we would like each child to bring in 100 of something in a ziplock bag. 100 things could be: pasta, pennies, elastics, candies etc. We have talked in class about how to break down 100 (just in case we loose count, get distracted etc. 100 is easy...it's 10 groups of 10 things. We will continue to talk about it this week and next in preparation for our celebration. Thank you for your help with this :) Something else to note...Field trip forms went home yesterday (a bit early). I forgot that the online payment won't be open for them yet. So if you can wait to make a payment online that would be great. I'll let you know when it's open.
Again, please let me know if you can volunteer! As a side note, if you are planning on volunteering with a younger sibling, we will not be able to accommodate them on the bus (due to a lack of insurance coverage). You'll have to arrange your own transportation. Thanks! You should be receiving Scholastic order forms today. We forgot to put the due date on them :( Please send them in by Feb 6th. Thanks!
Calling all cereal boxes! Each child will need one to decorate in time for Valentine's Day. Thank you:)
We have our second Scientists in the School session booked for Feb 24th from 8:50-12:05. Please let me know if you can volunteer!
1. The dryer is up and running. We used it yesterday for the first time!
2. March 13 is a trip to Mountsberg Conversation Center (more details to come) 3. March 27 we're going to Guelph Lake. (more details to come) I hope everyone has had a restful holiday season. Are you ready to get back into routine? I hope so! A couple of things to communicate: 1. Monday is library day. I have now listed all the library days in the Calendar tab. Hope that helps! 2. In the craziness of the last day of school, I completely forgot to give out my gifts to the kids. Oops. So....Happy Holidays in January! They will all be receiving a book on Monday. 3. We are still waiting for our dryer to be hooked up. So as it stands right now, we are unable to dry winter clothing. You may want to consider sending in a second LABELLED pair of mitts for now. I'll let you know when we can dry clothing. 4. For the month of January we will be learning about the Arctic and the Antarctic. I am on the lookout for toys and games to go along with this theme. If you have anything at home that you would like to share, I'm happy to borrow! Examples would be stuffies, board games and books. Thank you in advance! 5. Guess who's back?? MME MILLER! Yay!! |

This is my 6th year working with UGDSB, I am excited for the school year to get started and getting to know everyone. Hope everyone had a great summer! Archives
