Hi everyone!
Our special night is almost here! The students have been busy practicing and doing dress rehersals for the other kindergarten classes while Mme Miller and I are trying to get the artwork in place! With the trip to the zoo on Friday this is a busy busy week! A couple of things about Thursday (5-7pm): 1) Please remember to bring cash in order to purchase artwork and donate to KidsAbility. 2) Please remember to bring a reusable bag for storing the artwork as well as a reusable cup for the beverages. 3)The presentations will happen somewhere around 6pm or 6:30pm after everyone has had a chance to peruse and have a bite to eat. 4) Mme Miller and I would like to suggest that you can make an extra donation to KidsAbility in lieu of any end-of-the-year teacher gifts. We will also happily accept games/gift cards for the classroom. That's it! Everyone is very excited about our special night! I hope to see you all soon!

Scientists in the School was a hit! The kids were super busy learning about praying mantis, mosquitos, flies, butterflies, worms, snails and so on! They were super engaged and learned lots of new things (as did I!) What a great way to start the week! I put a few pictures up. Thanks again to the volunteers! We certainly couldn't have done it without you.
So for the next few weeks we are focussing on getting ready for our Art Benefit. The SKs are doing a play, while the JKs will be singing. There aren't too many special dates in the next few weeks. But here's what's happening. May 21st is a holiday. May 24th: Open House for new students entering JK from 5:30-6:30 May 31st: Art Benefit 5-7pm June 1st: Brantford Zoo June 8th: PA Day As we get ready for summer, the SKs will have a chance to visit Grade 1 classrooms in June. The JKs (if you didn't already know) will continue in the same class next year and be the "Big" buddies to our new students. But more on that later. For now, enjoy your week! Mme Ellis 6) Hi everyone, So a few housekeeping things: 1) Jump Rope is on Friday! Please don't forget forms, water bottes and proper attire. 2) Please make sure that when you are dropping your kids off in the hallway you make sure to let us know they're there. We have had a few issues surrounding kids getting into trouble in the hallway or feeling lost because they couldn't find their class. So please just pop your head in and give us a signal to let us know. Merci! 3) You may have noticed that there is an Open House and Night Among the Stars event listed for this Thursday from 5pm-7:30pm. Although you're free to come, the kindergarten teachers are not very involved in this event seeing as we all have other events planned. So just so you know, there won't be anything special happening for kindies on that night. 4) Scientists in the School on Monday the 14th. Thank you to all who have offered to come and help! I currently have Mike, Kate, Julie, Cynthia and Jeff coming so that should be enough! It starts right away in the morning and should go to about noon. 5) If anyone has costumes for wolves, chickens, sheep, cats or farmers that they can lend us, that would be amazing! 6) If you are planning on contributing to the catering for the Art Benefit, please get the money to Marissa A.S.A.P. She needs to order soon! Merci! Bee Day was a success! The kids learned about bee anatomy, the bee dance, drawing bees and making a hive. So much fun!
