As some of you may know, the school is participating in a Snowman Run on Friday. They will be following the same route they did for the Terry Fox Run around the river. It begins at 11:30, which happens to be when M. Moore has our class. M. Moore and I have decided that that may be too much for our class. Therefore, he will either do a modified walk around the school yard, or build snowmen with the students! Either way, please dress the kids appropriately. Volunteers are welcome:)
Merci!

It's the last week! (Although for me it's only the second lol)
I just wanted to request that parents avoid sending in any unhealthy snacks on Friday. Our plan is to have as normal a day as possible - with no sugar added. We may put on a movie in the afternoon and I have plenty of crafts available. Also, FYI, Mme Miller and I are both out of the classroom on Wednesday for training. Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing holiday! Mme Ellis Wednesday is fast approaching! The kids are very excited! We have a few details to relay:
1) Please have them wear festive colored clothing (top or bottom or both!) 2) Please please please check the lost and found in the hallway. 3) Don't forget to bring your potluck item and a picnic blanket since we will be eating in the gym. 4) Please feel free to come and check/replace their spare clothes. Many of them still have summer clothes in the class. 5) Mme Miller and I hope to have our holiday snowglobes finished (we're still working on them). The idea is to have you take them home after the concert. We will put them out if they are finished in time! Thank you to those who sent in bottles. I ended up using smaller ones so as to not have a large amount of liquid. 6) The class has a new planning time teacher, M. D'arcy Belyea who is replacing Mme Henry for the rest of the year. We will fill him in on all the specifics so as to make the transition as smooth as possible. C'est tout! A mercredi! Mme Ellis Thursday is Mme Aebersold's last day! I know. We will all be sad to see her go! She has been a wonderful addition to the classroom. I realize that there have been many different teachers in the class since September. For what it's worth, I'm not planning on leaving ever again! I have been in touch with Mme Aebersold, and will be continuing with the same routines that she uses in order to keep this transition as smooth as possible!
As an aside, Mme Miller and I are planning on making snowcones with the students in the next couple of weeks. If you could please send in a glass jar - preferably one that has clear glass and a tight lid - that would be great! Also, in preperation for the holidays, if anyone is considering purchasing a holiday gift for us, I would like to request donations for the classroom instead. At the moment, we can always use puzzles, board games and small manipulative toys such as building blocks. Gift cards to the dollarstore, Michaels or even Mastermind would also come in handy. The kindie potluck will be happening Dec 14th between 12-1pm. Details to come soon. I look forward to being in the classroom again! See you all soon! Mme Ellis |
A little bit about Mme EllisI have worked in Guelph for 8 years and have been teaching for 12 years. It is my 6th year at John McCrae and I love it! I have 3 young kids at home, so I know exactly what you're going through! A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MS MILLER... I have been working as an ECE for 18 years and have a young child at home. This is my 6th year working with UGDSB, I am excited for the school year to get started and getting to know everyone. Hope everyone had a great summer! Archives
