Hi parents! First of all I wanted to send out a BIG thank you for everyone who has taken the time to volunteer in the class and on field trips etc. We really appreciate the help!
I've asked Jen to continue with the same schedule for the rest of the year. However, if you would like to make changes to your regular shift, or add to it, please send Jen a quick email at [email protected]. She will be updating the calendar soon. Merci!

What a day!! What a great day!! So I was most definitely click happy this morning. Turns out I didn't have much else to do thanks to Jim, Mike, Preethi and Marissa! Thanks again for your help! Check out all the pictures on the pictures page. What else? Scholastic went home this week. If you're interested just get it back in good time. Also, if you weren't already aware, we have switched our programming to allow for more flexibility and choice for the students. This allows me to really focus on reading with the SKs. So they get to choose what they want to do and therefore should be more engaged and more well behaved! At least, in theory. Any questions, please let me know! Some changes for next week:
1. I'm moving the pizza party to Tuesday to accommodate some kids who will be away Wed. So that means we have Scientists in the School and a pizza party on the same day! It's gonna be CRAAAAZZZYYY! 2. The Carnival has been moved to Friday Feb 27th. So please send in extra clothing to keep them warm. Merci! 3. I have started reading with the SKs. I am sending home books (some come with CDs, others don't) for you to practice at home. I've asked the students to keep the books in the sac-en-plastiques so that I can continue to practice with them at school. Once they have become comfortable with their book, I will switch the book for them. Which brings me to my next point...I gave out some of my readers to some families a while ago. If you wouldn't mind sending them back in that would be great! Merci! That's it! Have a great weekend:) So as you may have heard, our class was the lucky winner of a school-wide Bingo game! The prize is pizza. The students are pretty excited about it. So I've scheduled it for Wednesday of next week - Feb 25th. We were going to order enough for 2 slices per child. I will probably just do pepperoni pizzas and cheese pizzas, but if you have any requests, please let me know. I know there are several dietary restrictions within the class. I will double check to make sure there are no egg products or nut products. If there is anything else you need to know, please ask:) So the weather is looking very cold for tomorrow...there's talk of school potentially being closed! If we are at school, then we will go ahead with VD activities, however it will be too cold to be outside. So the Carnival is canceled for the time being :(
So now that 1/2 the school year has passed us by, I'm finally getting to posting some pictures! Please check back later today in the photos tab. Sorry for the delay:(
If your child is in JK and you received a purple form about and EDI survey, please ignore it. They were only meant for the SKs. My fault.
We have been doing some musical activities in class with instruments. We have been working on volume and beat. One of the next activities that we would like to do is to make our own musical instruments. If you have any craft supplies at home that you think we could use for this, we would love if you would consider sending them in. Things we might be able to use:
Pretty much anything we can make noise with. Friday is a big day. In the morning we will be handing out cards. You should have received a list of names in your child's sac en plastique. But, if we missed it, here it is again:
Class List for Valentine’s day Adiah Annabelle Arshia Beatrice Bronwyn Cameron Charlie Esmé Georgia Henry B Henry S Huxley James Jason Jimmy Jordan Jude Naomi Omar Peter Remy Reuben Scott Sophie Stella Townes Please have them bring their cards in alphabetical order if possible. During the middle block (11:15-12:55) they will be participating in a school-wide Carnival. The Carnival consists of outdoor games and hot chocolate. Please make sure your kids have extra outdoor clothing. We will not likely be able to put EVERYTHING in the dryer. The Carnival is organized by Colour House. So we will be with our RED group. |
