I can't believe we're here. It feels like this year has gone by very fast in so many ways! When I look back I have many fond memories! This is the first year since I've been teaching that I've really felt like we've REALLY been able to follow through with units and really delve into topics of interest. We tried really hard to make a point to have some engaging activities and we are super proud of how many things turned out. Mme Miller and I had a wonderful time with our cooking ventures, our walks along the river, our Art Night and all the field trips and special activities throughout the year. We would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made this amazing year possible - all the parents and grandparents who have donated their time (and money) to help make everything happen. We certainly couldn't have done it without you! MERCI!!!!!!
We also want to wish everyone a very happy summer. To send you off, I am linking a slideshow and a database of photos from throughout the year. HAPPY SUMMER! Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/J4oR6wwbdX8BGg6G7 Slideshow: https://photos.app.goo.gl/r7kHAGfXUweiBu5e9

So we have been having quite a bit of fun with the nice weather out! The kids have been enjoying our walks to Royal City Park and catching tadpoles in the river! We still have a few fun days left. Here are the details:
June 18: Tomorrow is TYE DYE DAY! We will be tye dying our t-shirts. So please send them in clothing that can be spared, they might get dirty. June 27: Water fun! We will be setting up sprinklers/kiddie pools and general water activities. Please send a bathing suit and towel. June 28: Pyjama and Movie Day! Happy last day of school:) That's it folks! Enjoy your last few days! And check out the pictures:) Last week was very busy! But also super fun! First and foremost I wanted to send out a tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who made the Art Benefit possible as well as everyone who attended. Mme Miller and I were completely astonished to receive such generosity from the families! As a class, we had discussed how much money we wanted to raise and we decided that $250 was a decent number. I am super proud and amazed to be able to say that in a few days we will be presenting KidsAbility with a cheque for $602.50!!! Unbelievable. Thank you to everyone. We certainly had lots of fun! Secondly, the zoo was also really fun! There were lions and tigers and bears - oh my! As a matter of fact, there were lots of animals! The group that I was with seemed to really enjoy feeding grass to the deer. Once again, thanks to all the parents/grandparents who were able to join us. I've posted a few pictures in the photos section. On to this week. Today we have a presentation from Suzuki Strings and as you know, it's Family Fun Night (5-8pm). Don't forget that Friday is a PD Day. The rest of the year will be fairly uneventful. We plan to spend lots of time outside and get our classroom a little organized. We just grabbed some tadpoles from the river yesterday so we can watch them grow! And we will be tye dying our t-shirts towards the end of the month. So stay tuned... Lastly. we still have a few juice dispensers and a purple plastic cup on our counter. If they belong to you, please feel free to come and grab them if you're here tonight! |
