1. We are buillding a terrarium next week thanks to M Foster who generously donated his old reptile tank. If you have any small plants or plant clippings you would like to donate, please send them in. If possible, please label them so we have an idea of where to plant them etc.
2. This week we will be welcoming one of the dad's in our class to talk about his work in the Arctic. Merci M Ryan! (I still don't know how to spell your last name!). We have recently transformed our dramatic center into an arctic scene with a large igloo. Please feel free to send in anything arctic related from home (stuffies, puzzles etc), if you're feeling generous. 3. This week you should be receiving forms for an upcoming field trip to Mountsberg. Online payment is encouraged if at all possible. We will be looking for volunteers as well. Just indicate if you're interested on the form. The trip is March 24th. 4. I have received some report card slips back. If you have not already sent them in, please do so as soon as possible. You're also encouraged to send back the brown envelope so we can reuse them in the spring. Merci and have a good weekend! Mme Ellis

We're having some difficulties outdoors and in class with some bad language. We would appreciate your help! Unfortunately, for several weeks now, one of our students has been having difficulty using positive words at school. The F-word has been overheard by several students over the course of the past few weeks. We have been in touch with those of you whose children have been in earshot, but at this point I think it would be fair to say that there may be more students who have overheard this that we are not aware of. Yesterday I overheard several other students using it without really knowing that it was a bad word. Believe me, we are doing everything that we can to curb this behavior. The office is aware. It might be useful to have a discussion with your kids at home to reinforce positive words. On a positive note, please check the photos tab. I'll be adding pictures - finally - over the course of this week. Thanks for your patience! Lastly, we are modifying our "quiet time" ritual to eliminate the lie-down-with-a-blanket approach. From now on, we will be doing quieter activities. In the next few days you should be receiving your blanket back. Thanks for all your support! Mme Ellis For Valentine's Day, I would strongly suggest that you write "To my friend" or "A mon ami" on the cards. It just makes it WAY easier to distribute them. However, if your child really wants to write everyone's name, the list is as follows:
Cameron Carter Eddie Eden Emile Ethan Evalyn Hadley Hasib Hawkins Henry A Henry d Jack James Jessica Joe Krystal Levi Lila Lucas Noah B Noah V Nora Penny Rhys Saige Sylvia Tycho Also, if anyone has any empty cereal boxes, could you please send them in a.s.a.p? MERCI! |
