I wanted to share some resources I found. The first two links are interesting ways to say "be careful" and "good job" instead of always repeating those phrases.

Their mission is "To build a movement in which every child has the right to meaningful outdoor experiences that invite them to play, learn, and explore their place in nature every day". The conference is for educators and parents. Day 2: Saturday May 14, 2016 @ Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto Cost: $141.25 Keynote Address by Professor David Elkind – Professor Emeritus, Child Development, Tufts University Includes breakout sessions on "touchscreen technology and the young child", "health and wellness" "weaving in the great outdoors: full body play" and more. See details at the link below: http://www.yrnature.ca/play_and_nature_summit Please let me know if you are also interested!

We will be staying outside in the morning on Day 1 and Day 5 (until the next P.D. day this is Monday and Friday). If you could please have your child dressed with snowpants on when they get to school this would be great!
We will be having interviews for JK's at the attached times. Please sign up in the Google document below. If you are unable to make any of those times please let us know. We will be sending the SK interview times out after report cards go home. Bon weekend!

We are celebrating Family Literacy Day on Wednesday, January 27th by inviting parents and grandparents to come into our class to share a favourite story, poem or song with our students (in English or French). If you are available and interested in joining us, please comment on this post or write in your child's communication book. We will also be having a pyjama day on this day.
Another resource I'd like to share with you is below. This "Treasure Chest" was created to help non-French families with children in French Immersion.

Hi All :)
Just wanted to ask if you could please send extra hats/mitts for your child. We are drying them between recesses but if they could have an extra pair in their backpacks this would help if we don't have time to dry them when others are using the dryer. Hope you have a good rest of the week! In regards to the volunteer calendar that's not visible we are working to solve this problem. - Mme. Fedy Hi All,
I hope you had a great week! Just wanted to touch base that we have had MANY kids telling us they are hungry after 2nd break/recess and they have finished their entire lunches. We do have a limited supply of apples in the office, but if you could send your child with some more snacks we will allow them to eat before Free Play during the last block. We will also be talking about healthy eating coming up and Mme. Miller and I have decided to bring in some healthy snacks once a week to share as a class such as fruit, veggies, cheerios etc. If you have any concerns about this please let us know in your child's communication book. Bon weekend!! Bonne année and welcome back! A few reminders for the new year :)
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday with your family and friends and I am excited to be back! :) - Mme. Fedy |
