Not much to report this week. We're still busy learning about plants and flowers and looking for birds in the forest. A few upcoming events to tell you about. We don't need volunteers, but parents are welcome to join us. May 16th will be a cooking day (I'm currently thinking of making letter pretzels...will let you know). Volunteers welcome! May 17th is a PJ Day (Just our class, just because it's so cute) May 20th is a holiday May 30th is African Lion Safari. If you had signed up to volunteer, you should have received an email. Please let me know if you didn't. C'est tout! Have a great week!

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I had to have an improptu talk with the class today about homelessness after we came upon a homeless person in our usual forest spot this morning. Some of the SKs were definitely curious about it so I spoke to them about the possibility of drugs and needles and the danger that there might be for them. We called the police and will be cleaning up the site before we are able to use it again. Scientists in the School : This session is covered by parent council. There is NO CHARGE to you. Cooking on Monday: Thanks to everyone who signed up! We could still use ingredients for the smoothie. Sroll down if you're interested in donating. Merci! Plastic Bag Challenge: The school is running a challenge to collect plastic bags (through Walmart) to collect bags in order to recycle them. Please send yours in between April 15-26th! Plastic Bottle Caps : I am collecting all sorts of bottle caps in the name of art! Please send them in!
Bonjour à tous!
Welcome to April! Today is Mme B's last day helping with our class. She had a little "treasure hunt" prepared for the kids this morning. They had to find little surprise gifts in the forest. It was a hit! Scientists in the school: I mixed up the date on the last post. It is indeed happening on April 18th. NOT April 17th. So far I have 3 volunteers (Cindy, Amanda and Kim). I could still use 2 more. Please let me know if you can make it (8:45-12:00) before I recruit Grade 8 kids! African Lion Safari: We are going on MAY 30th. So for the permission forms, it turn out I can use either of the forms that we sent home. If you still haven't received one please let us know! In terms of volunteers, I have a long list already of those who are interested. We are currently tallying numbers to find out if we have room for everyone. I'll send out an email to those who are interested soon to let you know more details. April 10: Tree tapping April 10: Day of Pink April 15 : Baking with syrup day (recipe TBD) April 15: Vision Screening April 19-22 : Easter Weekend |
