Hi everyone, What crazy weather! Thank you for sending in proper clothing! (By the way, we are looking for a pair of blue splash pants with Andrew's name??). Also, thanks to those who have already sent in the tear off portion of the report card along with the brown envelope. Unfortunately, we will be canceling the Olympic Events that we had planned for Friday. No snow = No Olympics. However, the students had a wonderful time with Jan Sherman yesterday! She is an excellent story teller. Speaking of that, we are still missing the $2 charge from multiple families. Last I checked (a few days ago), we are still waiting for payment for Ariya, Armaan, Wyn, Emile, Emily, Ethan, Jack, Levi and Madysen. If I somehow missed a payment just let me know. Thanks! Next week we have the Wild Ontario Birds presentation on Thursday March 1st (NO CHARGE)
In other news, it was announced yesterday that they have hired a new teacher to replace Mme Campbell. Actually, although it's not confirmed yet, it sounds like Mme Campbell will still be with us once a week. The rest of the time will be with Mme Elias. She's a new teacher to our school who happens to be sisters with the Grade 3 teacher who also goes by Mme Elias. (I know, now there's 2 Eliases and an Ellis - this will be fun!) Lastly, please please please send in any stuffed animals/toys/pictures of your own pets. Our veterinary clinic is up and running and I was hoping to have the students "adopt" pets of their own. However, right now, there are not enough pets. Merci and have a great day! Mme Ellis

Valentine's Day!
Please see the previous post for a list of names. Or better yet, have all the cards addressed to "my friend (mon ami)". Merci! Vet Clinic The class has decided to make a vet clinic in our dramatic play center. I have told them that they are allowed to bring in "pets" (stuffies) for the center as well as any other pet related items that you may have at home (e.g., bowls, leashes). If possible, label the items before they come to school. But we will do our best to keep track as well. They are welcome to also bring in pictures of their real pets and we will post them for everyone to see. Olympics at JMC! Thursday Feb 22nd the kindergarten classes will be hosting Olympic Events outside in the morning (e.g., hockey, etc). Please make sure your children are well dressed, and feel free to send in extra clothing if you like. Martial Arts Champion Nathan Skoufis On Feb 20th we will be visited by this amazing athlete. They have asked for a $1 donation to cover the cost of the presentation. Thanks! Jan Sherman On February 21st, all the Kindergarten classes will have a visit from community elder, Jan Sherman. Jan is an Anishnabe mother, culture keeper, drummer and story teller. She will be leading a storytelling circle in each class. There is a $2 charge to cover the costs. Lastly, if you have any toilet paper rolls, please send them our way. Happy Valentine's Day and have a great week! Mme Ellis Healthy Snack Day pictures are up! Thanks once again to Mr. B for his culinary skills. My apologies if I missed a picture of your child, some of the snacks went down the hatch too fast!
Reminder: Next week we would like to start our Sun Art Projects. Thank you to the handful of families who sent in small objects. We are still looking for more! Enjoy your weekend:) Mme Ellis |
